Fellowship recipients will receive $52,000 a year over the next three years to help pay for their graduate studies and research, plus $5,000 toward a summer internship.

Applicants must submit:
- A Personal Career Goals essay identifying the applicant's long-term career goals and how the applicant's program of study/career goals align to the DOE-NE mission
- A Proposed Graduate Research essay describing the research the student is interested in conducting during the course of the fellowship
- Three reference letters
- Official undergraduate and any graduate college transcripts

Travel Request Form - NEUP allows for one research related travel allowance per year that must be approved by NEUP 3 to 4 months before the travel takes place.
Fellowship Internship Approval Form - NEUP Fellows must fill out and submit this fellowship internship approval form for their required 10-week internship at a DOE national laboratory or other NEUP-approved facility.
