Fellowships

The Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) today announced two new Requests for Applications (RFAs) for the University Nuclear Leadership Program (UNLP), seeking applicants for undergraduate scholarships and graduate-level fellowships in nuclear energy-related fields.

The Fall 2022 Fellowship call is open now!

The UNLP Graduate Fellowship provides $169,000 over three years to support graduate research and supports a summer internship at a DOE national laboratory or approved facility.

Student applications are due on January 11, 2023, and must be submitted using the online submittal system found at neup.gov. NE intends to notify award recipients in Spring 2023.

Students can apply without their institutions being a current UNLP-approved organization. However, institutions with students receiving awards will need to be UNLP-approved by NE prior to the transfer of award funds. This is completed by the university/college through a separate Funding Opportunity Announcement (DE-FOA-0002265) found at www.grants.gov. For more information on how to become a UNLP-approved institution, please visit the Scholarship and Fellowship Resources page at neup.gov.
